Most culture initiatives are a PowerPoint and a poster. Bryce Currie, Chief Manufacturing Officer, built something you can't roll your eyes at. Since 1991, he's run bus tours that put 50-plus people from every level and function, from UAW to finance, through four plants in a single week, 5:30 in the morning until 10:30 at night. In this segment, he walks through the full mechanics: the subteams of seven, the different lenses each person brings to the same question, how he cut Ford's production system from 360 questions down to 10 elements, and why the pins and the alumni network keep people talking about it 15 years later.
