The Key To Crushing Your 2021 Goals (It Only Takes 30min Per Day)

Does this sound familiar?
More time spent in front of the TV or scrolling through the news reports
Fatigue-inducing Zoom meetings
Isolation, lack of authentic connection and collaboration
Less focus, less direction, less certainty over what to do
The neverending workday
It probably does because I’ve talked to so many of you with similar stories. So many of us are out there feeling adrift, lost, and disconnected.
With the digital interactions that have dominated many of our professional lives over the past 7 months, many of us have fallen into one of these two traps:
Overwork: Working constantly throughout the day and night because the computer or mobile device is always there with you at home and you can’t shut down. This causes us to overlook our self-care and neglect personal or family responsibilities
Focus Drift: Without the consistent structure and face-to-face interaction we’re accustomed to in the office we can start to float through the day without paying attention to our top priorities. Maybe that means hitting the snooze button more than normal or struggling to get the motivation to start to the “work” part of the workday.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Over the past 9 months, I’ve realized we are missing 2 things that we need now, more than ever: ACCOUNTABILITY and COMMUNITY

When you are accountable to an individual or a group of people for your priorities, goals, and tasks, you can easily accomplish more because you engage the power of social expectations (which is just a fancy term for “peer pressure”).

When you tell your coworker you will you’ll send over a report, you are more likely to stick to it and do it. When you tell a client you’ll deliver a proposal done by the end of the week, you follow through. When you tell your spouse you’ll be home in time for dinner, well, you’d better do it!

The expectations of others can be enough motivation to get you to follow through and get it done.

It should be no surprise that when you keep those goals, priorities, and tasks to yourself, you are far less likely to make it happen. Why? Because it is far too easy to make the excuse and choose something else more comfortable.

If you’re in the C-suite, or a solo entrepreneur, finding organic sources of external accountability can prove to be nearly impossible – especially during a pandemic.

I know what you’re thinking, you don’t need someone yelling at you to make sure you do everything all of the time. This group is different.

Every morning you have to come into the group and commit to three things:
One work task for the day. (something you typically avoid doing)
One personal task for the day. (walking, yoga, you name it)
One word to describe your mindset.

Then we report out the next day.

Together, we use the power of motivation that's generated by the group. We help each other through sustainable, purposeful action. This group is about challenging and supporting each other in an encouraging way in order to achieve your goals.

The best part is, there's no judgment, no shame. We look for honesty and transparency.

Don’t take my word for it, here’s what one of our accountability group partners had to say:

“Jan’s Accountability Lab came into my life when I really needed some structure and routine, and I was craving human connection. The monotony of remote work was setting in, and for me, the result was low motivation. Starting my day with the Accountability family helps set my day off with structure and intention. I find myself more accountable, but more importantly, really looking forward to connecting with this amazing group of people every day.”
-Tina Kozak, President – Franco

The group is limited, so you need to act now!

Imagine what a difference accountability and community can make for you! Whether it is getting new habits to become routine, or reaching and exceeding your goals, you’ll have a much better chance with a regular, repeatable time to report your progress to someone else. With the right support, you can crush it in 2021.
