Learning how to say NO

Learning how to say NO

Jan Griffiths of Gravitas Detroit talks about How to say NO at the Automotive News Leading Women Conference 2019
Here's my "not to do list" a lsit of things I often struggle with - And still struggle with today. I'm gonna focus on the last two. Saying no. As women, we're awful at this because we love to say yes to everything. I'm on two boards right now and one of them is sucking the life out of me. And I did this to myself and I'm trying really, really hard to say no and I'm proud of myself I did, 'cause somebody asked me to join another board a few weeks ago and I said no. But it's hard to do it because we always like to be liked, right? We wanna be liked. We want, fear kicks into our heads sometimes. We don't want fear, we don't want our boss to fire us, right? We wanna be liked and it's hard. So we don't wanna say no to things. So there's something that helps me and I hope will help you and it's actually a Gandhi quote and it's simply this but it's very deep. "A 'No" uttered from the deepest conviction "is better than a 'Yes' merely uttered to please, "or worse, to avoid trouble." And we've all done it and we all do it, we're human beings. Keep this quote in mind. It will help you, trust me.
